kal4to The Callisto Protocol Review
Jan 14, 2026
I've been playing for nearly 3 hours and continuing with the intention to finish the game as the story seems genuinely interesting. However I have stumbled upon the problem of repetitive gameplay. The whole game so far goes like this:
Walk -> Fight enemy -> Crawl -> Fight enemy -> Nearly die -> Reach somewhat safe point -> Next side quest
I also reached a point where I had to sneak around a robot from the prison in order to progress. I say had to sneak, but I mean forced to sneak. The game suggested I shoot the robot with a ranged weapon. I have a pistol with only 4 bullets and for the past 30 minutes I've not been able to fight any more than that. I was stuck at that section for half an hour until I decided to just run and pray. I finally got calm that maybe the story will progress with other characters, right? NO. You're left alone to wander more and wonder when you'll find heals, ammo, or money to upgrade.
Hitting save button doesn't actually save the game btw
Upon death, reload times are insanely long and if I get somewhere too fast, the graphics are not polished enough. It seems in what the game lacks in story progression, optimisation and gameplay, they try to fill in with graphics. For a game that costs $60, I expected a lot more than what I got
