kutayavuz The Last of Us Part II Review
Apr 3, 2026
TLOU2 (The Last of Us Part II) was definitely one of the best games I’ve played recently. It delivers a really strong experience in terms of gameplay, atmosphere, story, horror elements, and art direction.
The game tells the story of Ellie in her adulthood, focusing on the ongoing theme of revenge throughout the narrative. The story begins with Abby and her friends, members of a group called WLF, carrying out a revenge that stems from the first game. Later, it follows Ellie and her companions infiltrating all the way into the WLF headquarters in order to respond.
After experiencing this three-day sequence as Ellie, the game then shifts to Abby’s perspective of the same three days. This makes you realize that the other side also has its own life and motivations, and that this world is not black and white but rather composed of shades of gray. It also leads you to empathize with Abby and, in a way, question your own journey.
Especially in the second half of the game, while playing as Abby, I noticed that killing is optional in many situations. Because of this, I mostly started avoiding killing human enemies in the other half of the game. Although the game often encourages stealth through both incentives and limited equipment, I still recommend choosing stealth even in action-heavy sections. The reactions of NPCs when they notice their allies going missing further immerse you in the atmosphere.
Finally, I would like to thank the Naughty Dog team for providing voice acting and text support in my language.
