Kyotofu It Takes Two Review

May 8, 2026
What a fantastic improvement on the coop formula !! With its seemingly endless well of imagination and perfectly tuned gameplay variety, It Takes Two deserves all the praise. The scale in this game is mind-boggling. So many environments, so many different moods and thrilling sequences. It truly is a roller-coaster from front to back, and it's super replayable. I'd say it's also notably one of the few coop experiences tailored to be played with a family member or a special someone. As usual, it makes flawless use of Unreal Engine and never lags nor crashes, despite being filled to the brim with details, items, mini-games and fun characters to encounter. The interactions are delightful, the entire cast manages to keep a steady dose of humor while never being overbearing. It handles everything exceedingly well, even when it's throwing 10 different ideas at your faces in the span of mere minutes. Josef Fares still doesn't quite know how to write a good story, but the personality of the entire package is a wonder to behold, from the first second to the very last moment.
