LeBricio Mafia: The Old Country Review
Aug 18, 2025
Don't get me wrong : he game is beautiful, and the early 20th-century Sicilian atmosphere is stunning.
But with this apart it's the same piece of garbage that the lazy studio Hangar 13 did with Mafia 3.
Why am I saying that ? Well let me sum up real quick what the game is all about :
The missions starts with sneak gameplay > When the sneak part is over a gunfight begins (so all the silent kill you did before are useless) > when you pass all the ennemies it eventually ends with a knife fight with "the boss" of the mission and THAT'S IT.
I know that you don't play Mafia for the gameplay but come on, this game feels 15 years behind and reeks of mediocrity.
The game is also making you believe that you can access to multiple cars but 90% of the mission are with a car that is already picked by the npc and you get to chose only when you have to go alone on a mission (maybe 2 or 3 times in the entire game)
Story-wise, it’s... okay at best. It’s so rushed that you never have time to connect with the characters. One or two stand out, but everything else is flat and predictable.
So yes, the setting is beautiful, but beyond the postcard look, there’s nothing memorable. You play it, you finish it, and you move on.
