LightBeam The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Review

The game that made me like open world games, truly.
I see people saying it's overated all the time, whatever they say, I don't care.
Thing is that we have to put things into their context. Most open worlds were flat and not really ... useful. Climbing on all these stupid towers in Far Cry 3 or Assassin's Creed 2 was boring as heck, and while I still kinda enjoyed those games, they were always revered way too much for me.
It was even worse for racing games, in Burnout Paradise I just wanted a menu to select the races just like I did in Revenge and Burnout 3.
This tho. This gave me feels I thought I couldn't feel again. I remember back when I started Zelda Classic on the home computer, playing Zelda 1 and not understand what I was supposed to do or where I was supposed to go. But I had that sense of freedom that I could go wherever I want, discover some tough enemies, and keep going in lands I wasn't supposed to be (yet).
I thought that I couldn't feel that again because I was just too old, I've played too many games and genres, I just know the hobby too well. BoTW told me that there are still new things to discover, that my inner child could be awaken and give me that feeling of discovery and adventure that I've lost over time.
Even tho I haven't felt it since then, and I understand why. I can only have the deepest respect for any art that managed to make me feel that way. In my eyes, it's not overated at all. In sincerely earned each and every praise it gets. It has many many flaws, don't get me wrong. And obviously I'm not trying to review it "objectively", unlike some have said, it's not "the perfect game". But it's a magnificent one. I easily rate this one 5 stars, and while it's not my absolute favorite game ever, it might be the only one I could genuinely rate 100/100 for what it made me feel.
