macdee Blue Prince Review

A nice visual design and concept, hindered by implementation. It is supposed to be rogue-lite puzzler, but eventually, even though it is fun for the first 5--6 hours or so, it becomes a chore, with a lot of stuff inaccessible behind a thick multi-layered wall of RNGs (like you can't even get to a puzzle unless you're lucky - as in a casino kind of lucky). The game also doesn't respect you time with frustrating puzzles you KNOW how to solve, but taking time, and that you HAVE to take every run, because otherwise you'll be short for resources. I liked the game for first few hours, eventually got to antichamber (this is NOT a spoiler), but was just so very tired of RNG bs and the friction, that I dropped it eventually. Glad it was free on PSN, would've been very annoyed if I had to pay any money.
