macdee Sword of the Sea Review

Some nice visuals, but unfortunately, the game feels pretty half-baked. Sound is somewhat broken and in some cases inaudible. The story is ugh… well, there's some but I couldn't care less (not that it's the story these games are played for). The gameplay itself is kinda clunky - some nice moments, but lots of just janky stuff as well (not bad per-se, but just not really smooth all the time - like, say, Journey or Flower). One of the somewhat "core"? mechanics - the air tricks - is so convoluted I was unable to spin 10 tricks in a row, even though there's a trophy for 20 (I got 5 and I have no idea what I was doing… the whole thing is very very janky in this part). I have no idea how it should be done, and the game doesn't really explain much.
Overall, I honestly was expecting a fantastic game, but ended up just making myself to play it till the end (I already knew it's not very long at all so I just said to myself - ok, well, let's get it done. If it was even 5-6 hrs, I don't think I would make myself to finish it, honestly), only just to have it somewhat checked off my list.
Gladly, didn't have to pay as it's a part of PS+, but if I had to pay, don't think it's worth more than maybe 10-15 bucks or so - def not the asking price of $30.
