MegabrainX Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Review
Jan 1, 2026
As a continuation of FF7 remake, I had a lot of hope for this game. My hope was not unfounded, as I saw that the first playable section of the game was clouds and Tifa's backstory. From there, I enjoyed a lot of the sidequests and how they enriched the world of the game. Although, not all the quests did that at the start. Initially I had my reservations about queensblood. But the developers were smart and tied the first queensblood ques to Tifa… From there I was hooked! The queenbloods sidequest became more rewarding as it became a mechanic allowing the party members to become close to each other. It felt akin to an adventure party playing cards in their off time. Other sidesquest never grew on me however. I really did not like Chadley in this game. He had too much screen time. I believed if they had at least shown him doing some research with a region specific character per region, it would have helped in making Chadley more palpable. The way he is implemented now, it seems more like Chadley is here to annoy you and make you do a quest. It would have been amazing if the developers had him doing his own exploring with the local people and you helping him along the way. It would have added so much to world building! (Spoilers ahead) SPOILERS: As for the finale, I cried in a river. Aerith's story is the worst kept secret in gaming history for the past 2 decades, and so I thought I had braced myself for it. But the game creators were really clever in their approach and maximized the emotional pay off to its max. I am really satisfied with the story they crafted, I just wish that they do get that happy ending eventually.
