MegabrainX Devil May Cry 5 Review

I love the "action movie" vibe the game presents. After coming from various RPGs that required a lot of paused strategizing, it was refreshing to change to something more mechanically intensive. I was initially frustrated that the game made me switch characters often between missions. This made the gameplay feel overwhelming at first, but after a couple missions, the muscle training started to come in with each character. This character switch was a good way to prevent spamming of a single attack pattern for each character. In a way, it was a good brain exercise in avoiding monotony. I also liked how my combos were directly affecting the music for the fight. This mechanic made me spend more time in the practice room, so I could chain combos better and listen to that sweet music more often. Character-wise, a bit much sexualization, but the devs know who their audience is for this game, so many fans probably found it welcoming. My wife and I had fun poking fun at it. Finally, the story was serviceable for the game. This was my first DMC game ever, and thus I was really unfamiliar with the plot. I found myself really invested after the couple "twist" and "revelations" the game makes near its end. Once I have time, I will go back and play as the last playable character. Really looking forward to their side of the story and learning their combos.
