mightyfrog GreedFall Review

The best word to sum-up this game is tedious. Tedious because everything in this game seems to be a long succession of not very interesting fetch quests. Tedious also because of the invisible walls and bugs (there are not that many of them, but enough to add to the tediousness) prevent you to do what you want. Often, you just go to the place where you need to go, just to realise that you don’t have the right companion, or skill, and you just have to go back to your camp to get it, and it’s tedious too. The idea of exploring a new world and to reproduce what the first settlers to America must have felt is good, it’s just a pity that the immersion is destroyed by the maps full of icons and the constant backseat of your companions. To finish with what’s bad, the voice acting is often caricatural, the infiltration and disguise systems are rubbish and the story starts well but becomes bad over time. As a conclusion, this is a game with all the problems of modern AAA games but without the polish. It’s sad as I really wanted to like it, but really couldn’t.
