mightyfrog Ori and the Blind Forest Review

Most of the time, 2D games ,platformers or metroidvania, fall in one of these categories:
- Excellent game design with basic, or outright ugly, graphics
- Amazing art direction with poor gameplay mechanics
Ori and the Blind Forest is one of the few that succeed in both the artistic and game design fields. The art (both pictures and sound) and gameplay complement each other to make you enter in the game and feel exactly what the designers want you to feel.
Also, some areas have some spikes in difficulty that might feel a bit frustrating. Even though you might feel like you’ll never succeed in the beginning, you should really trust the game designers and persevere, you’ll succeed in a much shorter time than you thought and the feeling of epicness (is that even a real word?) that comes with this success is amazing.
