Far Cry 5 is a fun open-world shooter with a beautiful and atmospheric setting. Montana feels alive, and exploring the countryside, taking over outposts, and fighting enemies is a lot of fun. The gunplay is satisfying, and having different companions adds some variety to combat. The villains are also interesting and memorable, especially Joseph Seed. However, the story can feel inconsistent, and the forced encounters can sometimes interrupt the flow of exploration. Some activities also become repetitive after a while.
