Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a huge and beautiful open-world RPG with an amazing Ancient Greek setting. Exploring the world, sailing between islands, and discovering new locations is a lot of fun. The combat is fast and satisfying, and the RPG and gear systems offer plenty of freedom. However, the story feels simple and lacks depth, and the game carries over many systems from Origins without adding much new innovation. The huge amount of side content can also become repetitive. Overall, Odyssey is a fun RPG, but it doesn’t feel as fresh or impactful as it could have been.
