Moltrex1 Resident Evil 2 Review
Sep 28, 2025
If there's one remake that kept me on the edge of my seat and gave me the chills, it was Resident Evil 2. Capcom did an excellent job, taking the classic game and turning it into a simply flawless survival horror experience. It's one of those games where, even after finishing it, the tension and fear stay with you.
The game's atmosphere is a horror show. The Raccoon City Police Station is a claustrophobic place full of dangers. With every step, you feel the oppression and the sense that something terrible could happen at any moment. The ambient sound, the zombie moans—everything contributes to a state of constant alert. The over-the-shoulder camera, which might seem simple, increases immersion and vulnerability, making every bullet precious. And the Tyrant... what a terrifying creature! His pursuits are some of the most desperate and memorable moments I've ever experienced in a video game.
The graphics are impressive, with a level of detail that borders on disturbing, but in a good way. The lighting is another high point, with shadows and dim light intensifying the feeling of danger. The story, even though already known, has been expanded and deepened, giving more layers to Leon and Claire. Both of their campaigns complement each other perfectly, and we connect even more with their destinies.
Capcom hit the nail on the head. They took an already strong foundation, masterfully modernized it, and added elements that elevate the experience. The puzzles are challenging and gratifying, and the extra modes add value and longevity. It's an example of how to make a remake. For anyone who appreciates a good survival horror, Resident Evil 2 is an indispensable game. It's an experience worth every scary and adrenaline-fueled moment.
