MomieIxai Infinity Nikki Review

May 21, 2025
I started playing this game around the mid-to end of 1.1 Shooting Star season through the epic games launcher (as that was the only available option before in my pc with around 70+ hours of total gameplay) after a month of debating to get into Gacha games despite loving dress-up and open world games. The beginning release was good and I appreciated the features the game showcased like "mix and match", generous rewards for beginners, actual and proper lore and world setting introduction, as well as story line pacing for the game lore. The beginning patches (from 1.1-1.2) was the only time I enjoyed the game for it's own essence without being a paying member. I started buying monthly passes and weekly passes in 1.3 in the hopes that the game will be more engaging, outfits are more diverse yet still easy for players not to miss out considering the high standards the game has given on it's initial release (Bought 6 months worth of MP and a total of 1 and a half month weekly passes), yet the pity on the limited outfit started increasing from it's probability to max worse pity which is from 180 to 200 (because of added piece). However, once 1.3 began, content began to become more stale and chore-like rather than integrating more to enrich the lore of IN. Even the quest which Nikki veterans were very hyped to see considering one of the characters is very similar to a known character from the game's predecessor franchise (either from LN or SN) was ultimately time gated for a week yet ends in and anticlimactic and boring conclusion. Rewards also started to get more and more insignificant (especially in the Mira level rewards) and the pity of the banner outfits (although very cute and definitely a target against their "anti-FOMO" agenda) became similar to it's past patch which is 200 (at that time I never noticed it and thought it was fine). The next patch (1.4) is also the same - bland, chore-like, additions of new paid currencies and nothing interesting while they were giving live shows on supposedly new features for players to enjoy, yet no promises were kept. Now, version 1.5 - the steam release excitement was rising very high as players were promised lots of content, a new miracle outfit and more gifts as it is also introducing new features like co-op and game world expansion, however the game just decided to slap the community's faces by giving them an unplayable game on mobile and PS5 devices making several non-pc players unable to log-in and miss their monthly pass dailies, untested and bug ridden events and rewards, unstable new features within co-op and dyeing, pay-walling several features and another attempt to add limited and exclusive paid currencies. Not only those, they decided to "accidentally" erase the original intro making several players angry and confusing new players diminishing their drive to even play the game eventually deciding to uninstall and delete their game, while actively using the old intro as advertisement for several platforms creating fraudulent or false advertising. They also thought increasing the numbers of pieces for the new limited banner was 100% GREAT IDEA increasing yet again the already hard pity from 200 to 220 just to go radio silent, banning and punishing players for 3 or more weeks because apparently it is the players's fault that the game is buggy, unplayable and not enjoyable for most, especially those who missed their PAID monthly passes and wasn't given compensation and was ignored by their "COMPETENT PR and CUSTOMER SERVICE" by replying "Can't help you, buy another device to play this with" as if most players who are playing this as a F2P has another choice. All I can say is this is the worst game patch I've ever seen on games as it is stress and paranoia inducing, consumer predatory and greedy game focused on creating more PAID currencies rather than fixing all of their bugs and apologizing sincerely to their community by actually making the game more fun and catering to all of their players's distress being resolved especially the major ones. And speaking of their apologies after weeks of silence and dismissing and banning "boycott" in several platforms, it isn't even sincere nor does it actually tackle and fix what the players are actually demanding, but rather making players's look cheap and gullible especially with the time gated rewards they have as you need to log-in in order to actually get the reward. So all in all, would not recommend this - not to my friends, family or even strangers. Dunno if the day I will change my review will happen considering this is just half a year's worth of content they have showcased so far and they are already messing up (heard stories that this might also been happening to their other games like Love and Deepspace with their currencies and rewards issue as well). Shame on you Infold for even trying to push the blame to your dev team by making them the ones to apologize to the players while being forced to comply with whatever decisions you are making them do and rushing them making their work sloppy while they are already busy fixing and developing the said "roadmap" you were supposed to follow.
