mras30 Metro Exodus Review

Feb 1, 2025
Overall this is an amazing game with just a FEW bits of euro-jank, which if ironed out would make it a full 5 stars from me. I won't go into what I liked, it is everything, story, graphics, gameplay, the adventure, the open world areas with secrets to find, a few of which are much larger areas than you'd expect. But my complaints really just boil down to poor voice acting and bad lip-synching, which usually I'd not worry so much about but when you're so close to perfect, you gotta get even those things right. And I do play in Ukrainian or Russian as well, for more immersion, yes, but I'm personally not a fan of sub-titles, especially if they're over-used. And other than that it is really just some janky controls AT TIMES. Most of it is really smooth, but there's a few menus you'll have to get used to navigating and it could have been set up more obviously, also that van in the desert map, man... Way too slow accelleration and not a high enough top speed. Needs just a like 15-20% more acceleration and like 40% more top speed and it'd feel so much better. Oh and also the dialogue when many characters are on screen and they all try to talk to you at once or continue on one conversation and start another, that's annoying and should be fixed, has been an issue since Metro 2022.. But even with all those little issues, everything else is so good this gets 4.5/5 stars from me.
