Dealing a blow to the chances of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl receiving a PS5 port in the near future, director Ievgen Grygorovych has stated the Xbox and PC versions are the "only ones" being worked on by developer GSC Game World. STALKER 2 is one of Xbox's major console exclusives of 2024 and is currently available only on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Since releasing on November 20, STALKER 2 has hit the ground running, with its sales and player count soaring high within a short period of time. The significant demand for the post-apocalyptic FPS is also partly down to the prolonged wait for the game, which was originally announced way back in 2010. As a result of its popularity, just about a month after its launch, the STALKER sequel collected enough revenue to generate a profit for its creator, GSC Game World. Despite it being an Xbox console exclusive, certain players have been holding out for an eventual PS5 version announcement. However, such speculation may now have been put to bed, at least for the time being, by the Ukrainian studio.
These fascinating and haunting movies are perfect for fans of STALKER 2.
