A recent rumor is now suggesting that a new Fire Emblem game will be announced at some point during 2025, with the game set to be a remake of an older title. The turn-based tactical RPG franchise from Intelligent Systems and Nintendo has exploded in popularity throughout the past decade, becoming a mainstay of Nintendo's console lineup. The Switch has already welcomed multiple main-series Fire Emblem games to its roster, with Fire Emblem: Three Houses releasing in 2019 and Fire Emblem Engage in 2023. Now, rumors are heating up about the next Fire Emblem game.

With thirteen main-series games in the franchise, Intelligent Systems has often gone back to the franchise's rich history for ideas for its newer games. The previously-mentioned Fire Emblem Engage features the unique "Emblem Ring" system, with characters able to channel iconic Fire Emblem heroes for special abilities and buffs. Fire Emblem Warriors and Fire Emblem Heroes also serve as crossover games for the franchise, combining a litany of cast members from previous games.
