Classic BioWare RPG Neverwinter Nights has received a major new piece of DLC 23 years after its original release. The new Neverwinter Nights expansion continues the story of the Hero of Neverwinter, titled Doom of Icewind Dale.
Neverwinter Nights was initially released in 2002, with several expansions coming in the years that followed. It was eventually followed up by a sequel, Neverwinter Nights 2, which was developed by Obsidian Entertainment rather than BioWare. Both games received positive reviews, although it was the original that was viewed more favorably in general. Today, both stand as some of the best Dungeons and Dragons video games ever created.

The launch notes for Neverwinter Nights: Doom of Icewind Dale were posted on Steam, detailing what players can expect from the new DLC. Notable features include "10-15+ hours of gameplay," which continues the story of the original campaign, as well as 14 areas to explore in Icewind Dale.
