“I Thought Something Was Up”: Massive Oblivion Remastered Mod Fixes The Biggest Weapon Change

A new The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered mod is aiming to address and fix one of the biggest weapon changes from the original game to the updated remaster. The Oblivion remaster saw a lot of changes to the vanilla version of the game, including updates to archery, stealth, and blocking mechanics, as well as a complete graphical overhaul. But one aspect of the game's combat that was changed made quite a few fans unhappy, and this new mod is reversing the change.

Created by Buttflapper over on Nexus Mods, a new mod called Extended Weapon Range increases the distance of most of the swingable weapons to their original distance. As discussed in a Reddit post by intimate_sniffer69 (the creator of the mod), fans like Valleyraven "thought something was up" when it came to the weapon ranges being reduced in the remaster. The decrease in range is small but still noticeable. Now, with this mod, fans can swing swords and axes at the exact max ranges the original game featured.
