Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani said that Helldivers 2 receiving support for upscaling technologies, like Nvidia DLSS or AMD FSR, is "on the wishlist" of things to include in future updates. However, Jorjani added that other problems that impact the performance of Helldivers 2 need to be fixed before any upscaling technologies are considered.

In short, Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR are upscaling technologies that allow a game to be rendered at a lower resolution, like 720p or 1080p, before being upscaled to a user's chosen resolution, such as 4K. This would allow users to have higher-resolution graphics and textures without sacrificing performance in supported games. While AMD's FSR upscaling is done at a software level and is more widely available on PCs and consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X, Nvidia's DLSS uses the Tensor Cores of supported Nvidia hardware. The GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards can utilize DLSS 4, along with previous iterations of Nvidia's upscalers.
