It's been eight years since the launch of PUBG, and it's not quite the same game it once was. Since its initial launch, the base game has gone through a lot of changes, amid new platform launches, and a lot of battle royale competition. Now, it's saying goodbye to several of those platforms.

In an incredibly detailed breakdown on the official blog, PUBG's team has provided a comprehensive overview of what to expect when the version transition occurs. As a concession, the current-generation versions of the game will get a significant upgrade once this fateful day hits.

On November 13, support for the PS4 and Xbox One editions of PUBG will be pulled. Instead, the only console versions that will be supported going forward are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The team says this is a "necessary step" for the game, and will provide a "more stable gameplay environment." The team promises "improved visuals and smoother framerates" as a result, potentially directly after the transition takes place.
