Many are still wondering why Black Myth is getting a brand-new game as opposed to the previously discussed Wukong DLC.
A Weibo post (translated by Reddit user whyhimmel) clarified that CEO Feng Ji, who goes by Yocar, was feeling "confusion, emptiness, and a kind of dread" about the in-progress DLC. Yocar felt more of a desire to work on something new as opposed to finishing the Wukong DLC expansion/sequel. The team at Game Science ultimately set the DLC to the side for the time being and decided to begin development on Black Myth: Zhong Kui.
