Fan-Favorite Resident Evil Character Isn't In Game, According To RE Requiem Director

Another one bites the dust, as yet another popular classic Resident Evil character has officially been confirmed to not appear in Resident Evil Requiem by director Koshi Nakanishi. Recently, Nakanishi also denied the existence of Resident Evil 1 remake's Lisa Trevor being in the game, and now, he's dashing the hopes of fans wanting to see one of the franchise's most popular characters in the newest game.

In an interview with GamesRadar+, Nakanishi confirmed that Chris Redfield, one of the original RE heroes, will not be in Requiem, saying: "Rest assured, I'm sure Chris is out in action somewhere in the world, but for now we're not really looking at him." Nakanishi did not comment on Leon, who is heavily rumored to be in the game, or any additional classic characters.

Chris made his debut in the very first RE game in 1996, and since then, has appeared in most of the mainline entries, especially the modern ones. The original male hero was in RE1, Code Veronica, Revelations, 5, 6, 7, and Village, and was playable in all of those games, making him the most frequent protagonist.
