A producer at DICE says that he is confident that the release of Battlefield 6 on October 10 will be much more successful than the release of Battlefield 2042. After a successful open beta in August, the launch of Battlefield 6 has become one of the most anticipated games in October. Looking back at the struggles that Battlefield 2042 had, the studio feels optimistic thanks to the feedback they received from the community.

When Battlefield 2042 was released in November 2021, DICE had ambitious plans for the game. Large-scale maps for matches that could hold up to 128 players and a lack of a campaign in Battlefield 2042 didn’t quite sit well with long-time Battlefield players. User reviews reflected this, with current ratings at a 2.4/10 on Metacritic. So, DICE returned to the drawing board for Battlefield 6 to create an experience that would be for the fans, with the help of the fans.
