Halo: Campaign Evolved Prequel Missions Will Tell an 'All New' Story

Halo: Campaign Evolved will feature three prequel missions not in the original game, and according to the dev team, they'll tell a brand-new story. The Halo franchise has a considerable amount of lore to pull from, thanks to multiple games and dozens of books across its decades-long history. Still, the team behind Halo: Campaign Evolved decided to offer fans an original narrative instead of taking something from the existing canon.

Microsoft unveiled the Halo remake on October 24, and it almost immediately divided the fanbase over what it keeps and what it changes from the original. Notably, Halo: Campaign Evolved does not have PvP multiplayer, and it adds a sprint button and four-player co-op. While the campaign will tell the same story, albeit with updated motion capture and voice acting, it's also getting some changes in the form of three original missions to add new context to the narrative.
