After breaking out as one of the most popular indie games of 2025, PEAK has received several major content updates since launch, which now include another biome to hike through. Releasing on November 5, PEAK's next 'Roots' biome offers a forest-focused map with tall trees and vines to swing between them.
Originally posted on Landfall Studios' YouTube channel, the update is an exciting follow-up to PEAK's most recent Mesa biome, which featured a hostile desert biome filled with numerous deadly environmental hazards. While only a small preview of the new map has been shown so far, the sneak peek did reveal a new spider enemy for scouts to avoid while climbing to the top.
Released as a teaser for Peak's Root biome and its November 5 release date, the short trailer did at least reveal a few additional details to pick apart. With the previous Mesa having replaced the similarly temperature-based Alpine map, it's more than likely that Roots will be replacing the Tropics biome based on the vines and similarly dense treescape found between them.
The Tropics are currently the second map you'll encounter on each PEAK run, so you may not have to progress anywhere...
