ARC Raiders players don't need to worry about goofy skins and unrealistic cosmetic items making their way into the newly released extraction shooter, as the game's design director says Embark Studios intends to maintain the current aesthetic. As cosmetic items continue to become a divisive topic in the gaming community, ARC Raiders has now made its stance on the matter clear. However, the developer did note that there will still be plenty of customization options that will allow the community to freely express themselves.
With free-to-play live service titles such as Fortnite and The Finals taking the world by storm, cosmetic items and microtransactions have also begun to rise alongside them, as this is a vital element in games such as these to make money. However, premium titles like Call of Duty have been in hot water with players recently, not only for the constant microtransactions and bundles being forced upon them, but also for the overall style of the cosmetics in these bundles.
