After Megabonk's incredible launch last month, the game has quickly become an indie sensation, giving players countless hours of content thanks to its addictive gameplay loop and simplistic design. For a solo-developed project, Megabonk has achieved something truly impressive in its first weeks of launch.
However, after the most recent update that introduced a few game-breaking mechanics, the first million point record run was officially logged on the leaderboards, causing some players to quit the game entirely. As madsol on Reddit puts it, "I hate that the game has just become run around in a giant circle for 6+ hours," while faerko claims they're "not playing until next patch."
Megabonk has released a few updates to the game since its initial launch, introducing a fully expandable map, fixing some early broken mechanics, and altering specific abilities and/or effects to make the game more fun. One of the biggest changes at the root of the above issue is an update to Noelle that allows her character build to deal absolutely absurd amounts of damage.
