The Sims 4 doesn't have many true competitors, but InZOI is probably the biggest one. Released in early access earlier this year, inZOI offers a similar suite of life simulation options inside a less cartoon-y package. It's garnered plenty of fans and critics alike, but one feature in development could be a game-changer that sets it apart from The Sims.
In a YouTube interview with NewsNation, InZOI director Hyungjun Kim, AKA Kjun, revealed that "InZOI is indeed developing a multiplayer aspect to the game." This isn't a hard confirmation that multiplayer features will definitely come to fruition, but it seems unlikely that Kjun would mention such a big feature if the plans weren't relatively concrete. Interestingly, Kjun also mentioned that the president of South Korea visited the studio and noted that multiplayer would be a good addition.
There aren't any details yet on how InZOI is planning to incorporate multiplayer, but the possibilities of multiplayer life simulation are endless. It could be anything from mini-games to full-scale multiplayer cities, or something in between, like Animal Crossing's island visits.
