Biomutant has been long in development but its highly anticipated release date is nearly here. If you're looking for Biomutant reviews, here's when you expect them all to start appearing on OpenCritic.

The review embargo for Biomutant ends on May 24 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET. That means no sooner than that should there be any reviews, written or video, about Biomutant, though as soon as that time hits, we expect dozens of outlets to weigh in with their full reviews and, where applicable, review scores.

Biomutant is the debut title from Experiment 101, a new studio created by former Just Cause developers, among others. Leaving Avalanche, the team at Experiment 101 sought to make their mark with something unique, and however critics feel about the game when the review embargo lifts, Biomutant is undeniably unique.

In this open-world action-adventure game, players will customize their own bidepal rodent-like hero, align with tribes in the post-apocalyptic world, and take down mutated foes as they strive to protect the Tree of Life, the vital resource for keeping the post-human population alive, albeit not quite thriving at the time when the game picks up.

Game Informer's Marcus Stewart summarized it well in his recent 20 Questions feature on Biomutant.

Biomutant has the potential to become a hidden gem when it's released on May 25. The long-in-development game offers a wacky blend of open-world exploration, multiple forms of traversal, a deep martial arts combat system, and choice-driven storytelling – all led by your furry, gene-spliced hero.

The game is a total mystery, ratings-wise, with three weeks to go til launch. It's from a new studio and took a while to launch, which can both imply growing pains, but it's a studio of veterans and early previews have been positive, so that leads one to think it's going to be a surprise hit. We'll know as soon as you do, so join us on May 24 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET to find out what critics think of Biomutant before it launches on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on May 25.
