Even though dinosaurs have made for many successful books and movies, dinosaur games have rarely done super well. There are several cult classics, of course; Turok and Dino Crisis are among the first that come to mind, but there haven’t been any out-and-out hits. This is possibly why dino fans have such high hopes for Jurassic Park: Survival and why the creatures have been seeing renewed interest among indie developers.
Ferocious, developed by OMYOG, is one such dino-focused project, now set to release on Steam December 4. However, unlike the predecessor games mentioned above, the dinosaurs are not the primary antagonists. They’re still dangerous, of course, but they can also be powerful allies. It’s just a matter of establishing a proper connection.
Make some big friends and have them help out taking care of the other intruders.
OMYOG describes Ferocious as a survival FPS, wherein players will face off against mercenaries, dinosaurs and mechs on an island previously lost to time. Again, though, it looks like the island’s dinosaurs are just as likely to be allies as they are enemies thanks to a peculiar piece of tech that allows communication with and control of the ancient creatures....
