Bungie's Marathon Reemerges with a new Release Window, Pricing, Gameplay Details

Bungie today revealed a new ViDoc for Marathon, revealing a host of new gameplay details, release window, and pricing.

Bungie's troubled extraction shooter has reemerged from its self-imposed slumber. Since the game's disastrous Alpha test back in April, Bungie has quietly been working behind-the-scenes to revamp various mechanics, art, graphics, and more to address players' many concerns. Today's ViDoc not only highlights many of the upcoming changes Bungie has implemented, but also confirms the game's release window, pricing, and approach to monetization.

Dreams of Spring

A little over a month ago, Sony revealed that Marathon was planned to release before the end of the fiscal year on March 31, 2026. Bungie narrowed that release window down to March 2026. No exact date yet, but that at least gives us a concrete month for when Marathon will officially launch.

Bungie also confirmed that the game will retail on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for $39.99. That cost grants you full access to the game alongside a roadmap of free content post-launch. That content includes new maps, Runner shells, vents, and more, including the exploration of UESC Marathon's Cryo Archive in Season 1.
