Developer Ratata Arts and publisher Game Source Entertainment put out some good news today for fans of rhythm-action games. Its current project, Ratatan is getting a major update on December 25 with the release of the “Descent of the Dark Ratatan” update. With it, the game will gain a large helping of new content as well as a massive dose of bug fixes and UI/UX improvements.
This doesn’t mean Ratatan is ready to emerge from Steam Early Access just yet, but the rhythm-action roguelite will be entering a new stage in its development. If everything continues to proceed smoothly, perhaps fans will be seeing the full release of Patapon’s successor before too long.

As one might conclude from a title like “Descent of the Dark Ratatan,” the stars of this update are the Dark Ratatan, a new group of antagonists for the Ratatan to contend with.
