Updates on Starfield, Bethesda's regularly maligned space-faring RPG, have been few and far between since its equally disappointing Shattered Space expansion, but rumors of a comeback are starting to pick up, and some are hoping to see a major overhaul like the one Cyberpunk 2077 went through post-launch. Starfield is still expected to receive a PlayStation 5 port, and similar rumors point to a Switch 2 version as well, increasing hopes that a so-called Starfield 2.0 is coming alongside.
Various content creators have begun alluding to a behind-closed-doors showcase of an unannounced Starfield update. These have now been corroborated by WindowsCentral, which claims Bethesda has been working on improving Starfield's space travel and combat gameplay, but doesn't have any insight on other potential changes. In particular, "it seems that Starfield will break free of its loading-screen heavy space flight systems."
While many appear optimistic about Starfield's next update, there are others hoping to temper expectations.
