The review embargo for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is set for July 26th at 6:00 a.m. PST. Head over to the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 page after that time for all of the latest reviews!

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the latest game from Monolith Soft and the latest in the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was received as a "Strong" on OpenCritic in 2017, with an 83% Top Critic Average, and 80% of Critics recommending the game, citing a Fantastic RPG Structure and Massive Scale.

Much like the previous game, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is an action role-playing game that has a large open world for players to explore. In previous games, the number of active party members was limited to 3, but in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 players will be able to utilize up to seven characters in battle at once. The game, set after the events of the previous title, takes place in the world of Aionios and features a team of six soldiers who have become fugitives of both nations, with the end goal of defeating the "true enemy" to bring order to the world.

Previews have generally been positive, with a number of outlets have released Xenoblade Chronicles 3 previews ahead of launch, which you can read below:

Final Previews:

  • IGN - "There’s so much happening on-screen at any given time that it took me several hours just to get my feet under me."
  • Polygon - "But the point is that, for perhaps the first time, it feels as if Monolith Soft’s scope and ambition aren’t constrained. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 doesn’t look like it’s straddling its hardware’s — or its developer’s — limits."
  • GameInformer - "There will likely be dozens more sprawling environments to navigate and legendary monsters to trounce, but so far, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is shaping up to be a solid, albeit conventional, threequel."

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 releases on July 29th, 2022 for Nintendo Switch.
