Resident Evil 7 was released on iOS, iPad, and iMac earlier this month, but Capcom's 2017 survival horror is struggling to break even on the App Store, new statistics have revealed. According to a new report, estimated profits for the iOS edition of Resident Evil 7 are far below Capcom's expectations.
Mobile Gamer reported in June that many AAA titles have found it difficult to make the leap to iOS devices. The new iPhone 15 models can comfortably support high-quality graphics like Resident Evil 7, but there simply isn't enough interest from iOS users to justify porting the games to Apple devices. Many other console and PC games have tried and failed to find their feet on the App Store, including Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Mirage.
It's confirmed that the next Resident Evil game is in development, with RE7's director at the helm, which could suggest a few things about the sequel.
