Eurogamer.net revealed this week that a new entry to Microsoft’s Fable franchise could be in the works.
Their sources told them that the developers of the Forza Horizon series, Playground Games, will be the ones to develop the new game. These sources also noted that the game is “planned as a story and character-focussed open-world action RPG”.
Unlike the franchise’s recent spin-offs which strayed from the original design of the games, the new game will instead focus more on using the IP in different ways, such as a digital collectible card-game or an on-rails shooter.
This is quite exciting as the most recent big-release in the franchise, Fable Legends, was canceled and the original developers of the franchise, Lionhead Studios, were closed down by Microsoft.
However, the sources also told Eurogamer.net that the game is in its early stages, so it remains to be seen when the game will actually be revealed officially and released.
