Street Fighter 6 producer Shuhei Matsumoto expressed his desire to add more guest fighters to the game, following the addition of Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui as DLC characters for the game's Year 2 pass. Street Fighter 6's roster has been steadily growing with veterans and newcomers alike, making a total of 18 characters following the Year 1 Character Pass. The Year 2 pass is looking to be one of the most anticipated DLCs for the game, as it features a returning M. Bison and Elena, along with two guest characters: Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from SNK's Fatal Fury franchise.
Terry and Mai's inclusion in Street Fighter 6's Year 2 Pass was extremely well-received, as this marks the first time that a Street Fighter game will be adding characters from a third-party property. Previous guest fighters in Street Fighter are usually characters from other Capcom franchises like Final Fight.
