While most Fallout fans may be familiar with Bethesda and Obsidian's take on the post-apocalyptic RPG, players who haven't tried the first games in the series will soon be able to check them out for free. The original Fallout and its sequel Fallout 2 are known as influential isometric role-playing games but it's worth remembering that they are very different from the likes of Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 4. Fortunately, those who are able to look past that and appreciate some slightly archaic game design are in for an absolute treat.
Over on The Epic Games Store, users can pick up the Fallout Classic Collection for free between August 29 and September 05. This bundle includes Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout: Tactics, a cult-classic spin-off that didn't leave a massive mark on the community but is still held in high regard by those who clicked with its more strategic gameplay. With the second season of the Fallout streaming series confirmed to be in development, fans who pick up the Classic Collection still have plenty of time to play through the first three games before it arrives.
