Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 developer Treyarch Studios has confirmed the upcoming shooter will be removing the current weapon attachment unlock system found in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and implementing a more classic design. Come October 25, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players will be able to unlock weapon attachments per weapon, as opposed to the convoluted system that Call of Duty has currently implemented.
For the past couple of years, Call of Duty players have been unhappy with the unlock system for weapon attachments. Unlike classic entries in the series, Modern Warfare 2 made a major change to weapon attachments, forcing players to use different weapons to unlock attachments for other weapons. In previous years, players simply needed to level up a weapon to unlock all of its attachments, but the change made in 2022 has often been blasted by the community as convoluted and drawn out.
