September 16 is going to be a sad day for EA fans, as that's when yet another one of the publisher's games is being shut down, while another is being removed from the EA Play library. The majority of EA's games from the past decade have featured extensive online features. The online for these games stays available for a few years, but as the player base moves on to newer entries, EA inevitably shuts down the servers.
It's always a bummer when the online functionality of any game gets shut down, but the good news is EA at least gives fans plenty of time to play its games before it pulls the plug. EA keeps a running list of all its upcoming server shut downs and delistings, giving fans of the publisher's work the chance to play the games one last time.
Electronic Arts gives EA Sports fans a little more to look forward to by revealing the release date and key gameplay upgrades in NHL 25.
