Star Wars Outlaws has implemented a new September update that addresses issues with the game’s stealth mechanics and provides other quality-of-life changes. Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment released the first true open-world game in the sprawling Star Wars franchise in August 2024 to mostly positive reviews, though some players have been less than kind in their assessments. While Star Wars Outlaws provides plenty of variety in exploring planets, taking sidequests for main crime syndicates, and blasting away enemy ships in outer space, some players have taken issue with its technical presentation and combat.
Many players have expressed frustration with the stealth missions on Mirogana toward the beginning of Star Wars Outlaws, which are meant to be an early test of protagonist Kay Vess’s skills as an aspiring scoundrel. However, fans feel that these starting missions are more difficult than they should be, due to Kay being easily spotted by enemies and forced to restart the mission. Even Star Wars Outlaws creative director Julian Gerighty admitted that these stealth segments might have been too punishing for the beginning of the game, and promised that they would be adjusted in a future update.
