Several scrapped features for Silent Hill: Downpour, which included co-op multiplayer, were reportedly discovered by dataminers. While Silent Hill: Downpour has been out for over a decade, the Silent Hill franchise as a whole has had a recent resurgence. With multiple new games coming out carrying the Silent Hill name, many fans have started to take a look back at some of the previous entries in the series.

Many fans of the famous horror video game franchise had long hoped that older games would be remade or revisited using today's modern technology. Such is the case for the Silent Hill 2 remake. And while games like Silent Hill: Book of Memories, Silent Hill: Homecoming, or Silent Hill 4: The Room generally aren't ones that some fans think the most fondly of, one title has seemingly come up. Silent Hill: Downpour's source code was leaked recently, and this has caused dataminers to dig deep and look at how the game was developed.

The upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake will include a unique feature that will make players nostalgic for the original PlayStation 2 title.
