As eager as the Resident Evil community is for Capcom to remake Code Veronica, one of the franchise's most underrated games, the rumored project could be much smaller than expected. With Capcom's recent trend of taking older Resident Evil games and giving them a fresh coat of paint and modern mechanics, the question of Code Veronica's future is often discussed amongst fans. It may not have had the impact of the original game nor have the dedicated following of Resident Evil 4, but it's still a vital part of the canon that shouldn't be forgotten.
Over on Reddit, user Anthrax-Warhead shared a post originally published by reputable Capcom insider and leaker Dusk Golem alleging that the much-rumored Code Veronica remake will be smaller than the likes of Resident Evil 4 Remake.
The studio supposedly doesn't intend for CV to be as "ambitious" so fans hoping for a reimagining on that scale may need to temper their expectations for the project. Whether or not that will be the case remains to be seen but Dusk Golem has a decent track record when it comes to Capcom's upcoming releases.
