Being Quantic Dream's fifth game, Detroit: Become Human takes the formula used in the French studio's other choice-based games, such as Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain, and further improves upon it. At the time of its launch, the game received overall positive reviews, eventually reaching an average critic rating of 79 on OpenCritic. On the sales front, Detroit: Become Human topped the charts in the UK before cruising to over two million copies sold by the end of its release year.
Detroit: Become Human by Quantic Dream has its flaws, but half a decade after its release its story and characters still have so much substance.
