Indie developers, such as those behind the cozy dinosaur sanctuary game Paleo Pines, can struggle with the financial requirements of making a game, and it appears the Italic Pig team needs the fans' help to stay afloat. Even after a game is made, there can be many costs involved with post-launch support, not to mention DLCs and added content. Without having a production partner to assist, this can lead to the shutting down of companies and games even when they have a strong fanbase and plans for what they may want to do in the future.
