A new finding might allude to the Greek-era God of War games making their way to the classics catalog of PlayStation Plus Premium in an emulated capacity. Most of the older entries in Sony's premier God of War series can only be played via cloud streaming on PS Plus Premium, but with the franchise's 20th anniversary coming up next year, this may very well change.
The God of War series kicked off in 2005 with the titular PS2 game and quickly earned success with over 4.6 million units sold (as of 2012). The sequel, God of War 2, landed in 2007 and accrued similar levels of critical and commercial acclaim. From there, the franchise hits its stride with multiple new entries on the PSP and PS3, namely God of War 3, Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta, and Ascension. Aside from God of War 3's remastered version, none of these games are natively playable on PS5; a sore point for God of War fans.
If recent rumors turn out to be true, then the original God of War trilogy could be getting remastered, raising questions about what will be changed.
