Highly-Anticipated Fallout: Vault 13 Cancelled By Developers

Fallout fans were almost universally impressed by the massive Vault 13 mod when it dropped its demo in mid-2024 but it seems like the project is no longer happening. A huge mod that aimed to recreate the entirety of the original Fallout in Fallout 4's engine, Vault 13 was an incredible feat by a group of talented fans who clearly had a great deal of passion for the franchise. Unfortunately, the love wasn't enough to allow the team to continue as they've acknowledged that development on the mod must come to a halt.

Per PC Gamer, Fallout: Vault 13 co-lead culinwino shared a message to the mod's Discord community confirming that development on the game was coming to an end due to several significant reasons. Culinwino notes that the team was plagued by a lack of experienced contributors, clashing schedules, and major burnout problems, prompting the decision to pack it in before the problems became too serious. The Vault 13 developers have released their current build of the mod in its entirety so those interested in seeing what could have been can check it out.
