Mortal Kombat 1 is gearing up to introduce Ghostface and franchise co-creator Ed Boon is celebrating Halloween by showing off some new footage of the masked killer in action. The haunting image of the Ghostface mask has helped make the Scream franchise one of the most iconic horror series of all time, so it stands to reason that Mortal Kombat would want the murderer to join its roster. They'll enter the ranks of other popular villains like Jason Voorhees, the Xenomorph, and the Predator, who have all been guest fighters.
Posting to X (formerly Twitter), Boon shared a brief new trailer demonstrating Ghostface in action as they go toe-to-toe with Johnny Cage.
Starting off the match with their catchphrase "Do you like scary movies?" the rest of the brawl features the Scream villain ripping into their opponent with their combat knife, landing several visceral blows. Mortal Kombat 1 has even incorporated the Scream trope of multiple Ghostface killers being active at once as a sidekick briefly steps in to help extend a combo that ends in a devasting chest-carving throw.
